Published Apr 10, 2013The TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival is known for presenting a diverse lineup of performers —many of whom fall outside of the umbrella of jazz — and this year promises to be no exception, since the organizers have confirmed the names of some of the acts playing the 2013 instalment. This year's event runs from June 21 to July 1.
Shows are typically hosted at a range of venues around Vancouver, and the jazz fest has now revealed the artists performing at the Vogue Theatre and Performance Works. They include Bettye LaVette, Lee Fields & the Expressions, Dr. John & the Nite Trippers, David Murray Infinity Quartet featuring Macy Gray, Alex Cuba, Herbie Hancock and more.
There will also be performances from a couple of artists who rose to prominence thanks to the 2010 Winter Olympics, such as poet Shane Koyczan and singer Nikki Yanofsky.
See the currently confirmed calendar over at the festival's website and stay tuned for further concert announcements. Tickets go on sale on Saturday (April 13) at 10 a.m. local time.
