Now that the holiday season has passed, music fans can start eying the first major release of 2010: Vampire Weekend's second album, Contra. It's due out next Tuesday (January 12), and the band have just announced a marathon tour in support of the release.
After an album release show, Vampire Weekend will play three consecutive gigs in New York before heading to Europe for all of February. The band will then return to North America for all of March and April, an excursion that includes three Canadian dates: Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto.
The Pacific Northwest is noticeably absent from the itinerary, so it's possible that more dates will be added later. Even more likely is that the group will be playing Sasquatch! Music Festival instead.
