This year, British Columbia is welcoming a new event to its festival landscape — ValhallaFest, which will celebrate its inaugural festival in Terrace this month.

Described as "the marriage of Burning Man, Kispiox and old growth forest," the first annual event will take place from June 22 to 24 at the forested Lower Shames Estate, which is a quick five-minute drive from Terrace in northern BC. It's a family friendly music festival and one that aims to be both a "celebration of live music and love of the north coast virgin rainforest."

As for the lineup, the festival will feature FUNKT, Kadillak, Zuu, Chowski & Hatch, MillerTime, Chad-E-Ose, FL!P, Vehemence, Jaubee, Wise Tree, Mad Lax, Heddy D, Alvalanche, GDoubleU, Synthmonkey, Cruz, Chase Bankz, STØNE, Dinosaur Holocaust and D-Train.

Over here, you can hear a selection of tracks from the artists.

As organizers explain, "ValhallaFest is being pulled together by a group of like minded people who want to see a old growth forest music festival in Terrace. We want to make a great festival that is fun for everyone. Lose conformity. Be yourself. Be in amongst friends with the magical renewal of a sun festival on the longest day of the year. It's your day. We set the stage, you bring the magic."
