Marketing synergy was in full effect tonight as artists who performed at the VMAs were sure to crank out new content. One such web-savvy artist was Usher, who followed his live-television performance with the release of a new single.
"Believe Me" was produced by Mike Will Made It, so it's got plenty of pop-trap signifiers, from heavy bass and busy drum work through back-masked synths and deeply layered instrumentation. It sounds nice, and Usher feels right at home on the track, though it's unclear if the song has enough of a chorus to have serious lasting power.
