Useless ID

No Vacation From the World

BY Stuart GreenPublished Mar 1, 2003

Proving that the insidious influence of hot buttered pop-core isn't limited to the west, Israeli quartet Useless ID give us a mid-Eastern take on the formula. And you know what? It sounds almost as formulaic and bland on the other side of the world. There's no doubt the band comes by its sound honestly, likely having been raised on a high Fat diet of NOFX, Lagwagon and No Use For a Name, but it would have been nice to hear those influences augmented with some from their own country, like German goof-punks Wizo or Japan's Hi Standard. Unfortunately Useless ID sound like any one of 300,000 bands currently slogging away in basements and garages across North America.
