"Some People"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 7, 2015

New Vancouver crew Uptights have followed up their debut single "Edge of the Earth" with the flip, a pensive but poppy anthem about moving on called "Some People."

Organ player Jesse Gander takes on lead vocal duties, discussing the difficulties of relationships and how often we're hanging on to a bad thing for all the wrong reasons ("some people will try and deceive you when they hold on"). The narrative, supported by uplifting organ work and jangly rhythms, takes a sunny twist with Gander presenting the promise of something new.

Down below, you'll find an audio stream of the track and a fitting set of vintage visuals lifted from 1970 film Bronco Bullfrog.
