Published Dec 04, 2009Earlier this week, we got excited over a Billboard report that the Arcade Fire's wildly anticipated third album would be coming out in May 2010, with larger festival dates being planned for the summer. However, a spokesperson for the band has now come out and refuted these claims.
In a statement to NME, an unnamed Arcade Fire spokesperson said that the record doesn't yet have a scheduled release date, but will be "out at some point in 2010, more likely to be the second half." The mysterious voice also said that the band don't have any live shows booked at the moment.
So, if you want to believe NME's source over Billboard's, you may want to stop counting down the days until May. In the meantime, maybe you can find a theatre that's still playing The Box and hear the band's film score.
