Unwritten Law

Music in High Places

BY Stuart GreenPublished Mar 1, 2003

Proving that despite their short-lived radio-friendly anthem "Seein' Red" San Diego's Unwritten Law are not just another SoCal pop punk flash in the pan. This disc, their sixth and second live offering, finds the band packing up the solid bodies and amplifiers and pulling out the acoustic guitars for laid-back re-interpretations of 11 previously studio-fied tracks. The music was recorded during a trip to Yellowstone National Park for a taping of the show Music in High Places, which drops bands into unlikely locales. The result this time is an inspired performance from a band who has made a career of giving inspired live performances.
