With the spookiest of seasons getting ever closer, the folks over at Unsound are returning to frighten Toronto with two Halloween-themed events. And this will be going far beyond your typical "Monster Mash" territory, with the likes of Mica Levi, GAS, and S U R V I V E's Stranger Things scorers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein all set to play the series.

With both events taking pair at Toronto's Sony Centre, they promise to present "a radical mix of ambient soundscapes, innovative film and TV scores, dance, and even ancient Slavic sounds."

The first event is called Halloween High, which will take place on October 27. This showcase will feature Mica Levi performing a live score of her stellar Under the Skin soundtrack, with the Unsound Toronto Ensemble lending some added string and percussion support courtesy of conductor Evan Mitchell. The event will also feature Jlin, who will present Autobiography Edits, a new work with UK choreographer Wayne McGregor.

The second event called Halloween Hangover will then happen on November 3. This night will present S U R V I V E's Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, who will deliver a "specially commissioned lighting installation/stage design concept by German visual artist MFO." Also, Kompakt head Wolfgang Voigt will be on deck with his beloved ambient project GAS, making a rare a North American appearance. The night will also feature Theresa Baumgartner and cult Polish band Księzyc.

Tickets for both events will go on sale Friday (September 15), and you can learn more about the events here.
