Unseen

State of Discontent

BY Davey JonesPublished Oct 1, 2005

Produced by Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys, State of Discontent is the Unseen’s fifth long-player and after stints with BYO Records and A-F Records, they’ve found a new home with Hellcat Records. This is real-deal punk-rock; you’ll find no Green Charlotte or Blink 41 pap-for-the-masses here. What you get instead is a non-stop, action-packed, 14-song, raised-middle-finger of a record that should appeal to punks, skins and hardcore kids alike. It’s pissed-off yet polished, and musically straddles the fine line between punk, street-punk and hardcore: fast and furious, while still catchy and contagious. Lyrics that encompass both the political and personal are spit out with adrenaline and urgency. The Unseen should not go unheard.
