Unlikely Tour Mates: Spiritualized To Open For Lenny Kravitz, Jamie Lidell For Elton John

It appears that last year's unlikely pairing of the Hives and Maroon 5 as tour mates has rubbed off on a couple of big name acts, as Lenny Kravitz and Elton John have asked Spiritualized and Jamie Lidell, respectively, to play on a much larger stage than usual.

Idolator is reporting that afro'd, bellbottom-favouring rocker Kravitz has invited Mr. Spaceman himself, Jason Pierce, and his Spiritualized crew to play dates in Helsinki (June 7 and 8) and Estonia (June 10), for a union that will hopefully result in a drugged out, gospel space jam of "Are You Gonna Go My Way." Not likely, but could you imagine that?

Meanwhile, Pitchfork has confirmed that neo-soul wiz Jamie Lidell will join the "Rocket Man" for a number of UK arena shows towards the end of the year. This comes as less of a surprise, considering Sir Elton has helped further the careers of Ryan Adams and Scissor Sisters in the past.
