This past spring, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Lower Dens both released new albums. Come 2016, the two indie rock bands will team up to promote those records — Multi-Love and Escape from Evil, respectively — as they've just booked a North American tour together.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra will serve as the headliner for the joint outing, which runs for close to a month from late January into the second half of February. The trip will kick off with its lone Canadian date in Vancouver on January 28, and the groups will then head into the U.S. for a coast-to-coast run. Tickets go on sale this Friday (October 16).

See UMO's full schedule, including their international fall dates, below.

Meanwhile, UMO have shared a new reworking of the song "Cellphone" by SILICON, which is the alias of frontman Ruban Nielson's brother Kody. This features new vocals and instrumentation from Ruban; it will be followed by a SILICON reworking of a UMO song. The fidgety "Cellphone" can be heard at the bottom of this page.

Ruban said in a statement, "My brother was an important part of the recording process of Multi-Love, especially with the drums and keyboards. Kody's SILICON album, God Emoji, extends a lot of the tones and ideas we put into Multi-Love, so I think you'll enjoy it a lot."
