"My Hormones" (video)

Toronto four-piece Unbuttoned drop their new album Liquid today (August 8), and to mark the occasion, they've unveiled a brand new video for LP cut "My Hormones."

The latest record hears the band continuing to address issues like racism, sexism and homophobia in their work, while exploring emotional complexity and the dichotomy between grief and heroism.

"My Hormones" and its accompanying visuals capture just that, telling the story of a couple who is faced with an impending separation when one of them receives an acceptance letter to be among the first to settle on Mars.

The band's Casey MQ explains that the track was written in the basement of his first apartment in Toronto a while back. "I didn't completely grasp the lyrics at the time when I wrote them," he tells Exclaim! "But as years have past I've discovered the truth behind them."

Get a glimpse into the meaning of the song by watching the video for "My Hormones" below.
