Out of nowhere, U2 have returned with a new song, marking their first in two years. The track is called "Ahimsa," and it's an collaboration with Indian artist A.R. Rahman and his two daughters.

Rahman explained the song's themes to Rolling Stone India, saying: "The concept of 'ahimsa' or non-violence — it's Indian, it's South Asian, it's Buddhist… and sometimes we have to remind people about love, about ahimsa. It takes a lot of courage to be non-violent. It takes a lot of power. It's not a weakness, it's more power than showing might; it's going beyond that, believing in something else which is not present… something that's only in your spirit."
Most recently, U2 have been revisiting their back catalog for a series of reissues, including re-releases of 1984's The Unforgettable Fire and 2004's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Of course, the band also treated their classic The Joshua Tree to a massive anniversary reissue, as well as a tour.
