Published Jul 10, 2014Another week brings another Can't Miss Concerts roundup. And while routine is the name of the game here (we wouldn't want to leave you without our guidance, now would we?), the acts we're featuring are anything but. If you disagree, you can always check our complete Concert Listings to find something extraordinary for your eyes and ears.
There's no I in team, but there are two in Anciients, and trust us, you'll want to fix both of yours on these Vancouver crushers in a live setting. Initially announced tour mates Black Cobra had to cancel the tour, but they're soldiering on with their Heart of Oak in tow.
07/10 London, ON – Call the Office
07/11 Toronto, ON – Hard Luck Bar
07/12 Sudbury, ON – The Townehouse
07/14 Thunder Bay, ON – Crocks
EVOLVE Music Festival
Diversity is the name of the game at Antigonish, Nova Scotia's EVOLVE Music Festival. The show will bring Peaches, Hey Rosetta!, BADBADNOTGOOD, Royal Canoe and, in hilarious contrast, Randy & Mr. Lahey (of the Trailer Park Boys) and Fred Penner to the Maritimes town.
07/11-13 Antigonish, NS – Antigonish County
Rock the Shores
Calling themselves Rock the Shores sets out a tall order for this Colwood, BC festival, but with a lineup including Tom Cochrane with Red Rider, the Cult, Billy Talent, the Naked and Famous, Monster Truck, Sloan, Our Lady Peace, Mother Mother, July Talk, KONGOS and more, it seems a sure thing they'll fulfill it and then some.
07/11-13 Colwood, BC – Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre
Tyler, the Creator
As the de facto leader and founder of Odd Future, Tyler, the Creator has accomplished quite a bit, including apparently buying a Bugatti. Presumably, he won't be touring in that vehicle when he treks through Western Canada. Given that his crazy shows sometimes result in riots, this is one you shouldn't miss.
07/13 Saskatoon, SK – O'Brians Event Centre
07/14 Winnipeg, MB – Burton Cummings Theatre
07/15 Edmonton, AB – Starlite Room
07/16 Edmonton, AB – Starlite Room
Viet Cong's appropriately titled tape, Cassette, sold out and warranted a reissue, but it's their live show that's currently winning them praise. Signing for their upcoming full-length will only raise their profile, so get in before all their shows start selling out, too.
07/15 Montreal, QC – Divan Orange
Winnipeg Folk Festival
Last year marked the 40th anniversary of the Winnipeg Folk Festival, and they're keeping the triumphant celebration going for the 41st instalment, which will feature Bonnie Raitt, Bry Webb, Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, Frank Yamma, Chic Gamine, Sharon Van Etten, the Sheepdogs, the Wooden Sky and many more.
07/09-13 Winnipeg, MB – Birds Hill Park
