Published Oct 26, 2011Even after this year's release of the Exclaim!-approved Goodbye Bread LP and an impending singles collection gathering some out-of-print work, hazy West Coast garage popper Ty Segall still has some more songs left in him. The prolific rocker will issue a new single called Spider early next month.
Drag City, who will issue the single on November 8, explains that the slab of wax will contain three new juiced-up jams. Apparently, the title track "creeps heavy and sounds like some Finnish funeral." The A-side sports another Segall original ("Hand Glams"), while the flip features a cover of bluesy UK psych-rockers the Groundhogs' number "Cherry Red." You can check the '70s-era original below.
All songs were captured by Sic Alps member Mike Donovan.
Beyond the 45's release early next month, as previously reported, Segall's Singles 2007-2010 set arrives November 22 via Goner Records.
