'Twin Session' to Italian Library Classic 'Feelings' Unearthed by Sonor Music Editions
In an continued effort to unearth the finest of forgotten musical gems, Italy's Sonor Musical Editions is back with yet another library find. This time, it's a reissue of composer Giancarlo Gazzani's ultra-rare Musica Per Commenti Sonori — an album described as a "twin session" to the legendary Feelings album by Stefano Torossi.

Gazzani's library effort first arrived in 1974 on the Costanza Records imprint, and believe it or not, the album features the exact same lineup as Feelings, which arrived the same year. This means that in addition to Gazzani, the Musica Per Commenti Sonori album features both Torossi and the esteemed Sandro Brugnolini.

But despite the success of the timeless Feelings record, the Musica Per Commenti Sonori record was essentially lost and unheard over the years. As Sonor explains it, "After the release with the wrong catalogue number that was actually belonging to another Costanza recording, the album was immediately withdrawn, making it a real obscure item and never appeared for at least 40 years. According to original artists, this was originally recorded in Rome and Milan between February and July 1974."

Considering the lineup on the album, it promises to reach similar highs as Feelings, with Sonor promising the following:

Music is on the same line of Feelings album with mental jazz-funk grooveness but with less orchestral elements and more underground vein: you can listen to the insane "Abbandono" that's a slower version of "Running Fast," the heavy jazz-funk bangers "Shift" and "Perifrasi," the punishing jazz-rock of "Faccia Di Bronzo" similar to "Fearing Much" the incredible uptempo funky-jazz "Genio E Sregolatezza" and so on."

For a taste of what's in store, you can hear a sampler of Musica Per Commenti Sonori below.

Sonor will release Musica Per Commenti Sonori on June 25, and you can now pre-order the album. The vinyl edition of the album is limited to just 400 copies, with the entire session remastered from the original master tapes.

The album also comes with some stunning new artwork, which you can see above. Sonor has even pressed up a series of Musica Per Commenti Sonori T-shirts to go along with the release.
