Wilco leader Jeff Tweedy's new family band with his drumming son Spencer are leading up to their album Sukierae with the 10-inch Diamond Light. Now, that record's A-side has emerged.
"Diamond Light Part 1" highlights the percussive talents of the younger Tweedy since it juxtaposes his dense, tumbling syncopations with quiet, sparse melodies from papa Jeff. It's six minutes long, with a sprawling arrangement that moves into inventive orchestrations and dark, rumbling ambience. Listen below.
