Tusks Announce 'Total Entertainment'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 26, 2012

Tusks have undergone a few changes since offering up their self-titled six-song EP back in 2008, but the band are ready to make their return this fall when they deliver a full-length effort titled Total Entertainment.

The eight-song album drops October 23 through Static Clang, and is apparently the work of a band rebuilding following the departure of drummer Robin Buckley and guitarist Julien Beillard. Tusks founder and former Kepler/Weights and Measures member Samir Khan reportedly suffered some writer's block after his band buddies busted, but the crew was rejuvenated with the introduction of Steven McKay (Bruce Peninsula, the Steven McKay Project) and guitarist Jordan Howard (the Skeletones Four, the Magic, the Acorn, Cuff the Duke).

Total Entertainment reportedly jumps around from track to track, and is described as "seething one moment, soothing the next." Purported genres tackled include pub punk, jangle rock and epic art rock, with influence pulled from the Byrds, as well as the Police. You can maybe get a smidgen of the latter in the smooth jazz/dub pop number "In the Beginning/Give It Time," which you can stream and/or download below.

Tusks are also playing a handful of shows in Ontario and Quebec this fall, and you can see the schedule down below.
