Amazon has compiled and shared a list of its customers' holiday spending habits for 2015, and while some findings are hardly surprising (Michael Bublé's Christmas was the most played holiday album on Amazon's Prime Music service), others were a bit more perplexing (like the guy in San Antonio receiving the final pre-Christmas shipment of the year, which included a LEGO Star Wars Death Star Final Duel Building Kit, lots of dog treats and some stove-top stuffing).
Also notable, though, was the list of top-selling home audio equipment. The best seller? The Jensen JTA-230 3-speed stereo turntable with built-in speakers. A pretty cheap, straightforward piece of equipment for the beginner record collector, the player beat out a Yamaha Wi-Fi network receiver and a SONOS streaming music starter set bundle.
In a year that saw the emergence of a vinyl stock market, Third Man Records open a pressing plant in Detroit, and the revival of Columbia House as a vinyl service, it's clear that the vinyl resurgence continued to gain momentum in 2015.
Plus, the kids are gonna need something to play those Justin Bieber records on.
