Trinidad Jame$

"Mr. Officer" (prod. by Keywane)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 5, 2014

Since getting dropped from Def Jam earlier in the summer, Atlanta rapper Trinidad Jame$ has been serving up a steady stream of singles. James is showing us a different side of himself on his latest track, the gospel hip hop-styled "Mr. Officer"

The Keywane-produced single starts off with a car siren and a child choir-assisted lament ("I don't want to go to jail and I can't afford my bail") before Jame$ delivers a narrative critical of profiling policemen. The second verse has him trying to calm down a cop before getting pulled in for having a console of weed.

You'll find the new tune down below.
