Trent Reznor's 'Natural Born Killers' Soundtrack Reissued on Vinyl
Long before Nine Inch Nails leader Trent Reznor started crafting scores for The Social Network, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl alongside Atticus Ross, he was asked to put together a soundtrack for Oliver Stone's controversial, surrealist media critique Natural Born Killers. It's been years since the project was available on vinyl, so reissue hub Music on Vinyl has revealed plans to put the platter back in print.

The repress is due December 14 as a double LP in a gatefold sleeve featuring artwork from the 1994 film. The the first 2,000 copies being served up on Mick- and Mallory-approved "blood red vinyl." Though CD and cassette copies arrived just ahead of the film's theatrical release, the only other wax pressing of the Reznor-curated OST was delivered in 1999 through Simply Vinyl.

While the soundtrack featured new exclusive songs like Nine Inch Nails' "Burn," it also blended in older songs from Leonard Cohen, Patsy Cline, Cowboy Junkies and Dr. Dre, as well as clips from the movie. "Born Bad" modifies a bluesy a cappella performance in the film from Juliette Lewis, who played killer Mallory Knox, by adding background music.

Back in the '90s, Reznor had explained to MTV of his sprawling soundscape: "I suggested to Oliver [Stone] to try to turn the soundtrack into a collage-of-sound, kind of the way the movie used music: make edits, add dialog, and make it something interesting, rather than a bunch of previously released music."

You'll find the soundtrack details down below.
