Trent Reznor Returns as How to Destroy Angels?

Well, everyone knew that Nine Inch Nails front-man Trent Reznor wouldn't stay musically dormant for long. And, as it turns out, he never really stopped his creative urges, as his latest musical project has already been announced - maybe.

How to Destroy Angels is the name of a new band that seems to consist of Reznor and his wife Mariqueen Maandig, although nothing has been confirmed just yet. A publicist recently sent out an email saying "Self-titled 6-track EP out this summer, exact date TBA," reports TwentyFourBit. But judging from what is out there, it appears that Reznor and Maandig, who played in L.A. art rockers West Indian Girl from 2004 to 2009, are behind this band. Details are sparse (which is actually the first giveaway that it probably is Reznor), but here's what we've got so far.

There's a website for the band, which doesn't offer much besides a short video teaser that certainly looks like Reznor's handiwork, while what can be seen of the woman does look like Maandig. Then there's the band's logo, which looks like the work of Nine Inch Nails' art director, Rob Sheridan. And, if we're gonna get all private dick here like we have nothing better to do, Maandig tweeted a couple months back about the keyboard in the video, reports Amateur Chemist (so they did the awesome dorky research, not us, okay?).

Here's another clue: Reznor tweeted back on February 1 that he was entering day one of work in the studio, and the name of the new project is also the name of the first single by Coil, who were a huge influence on Reznor, reports Rolling Stone.

The band's MySpace and Facebook pages reveal no further info.
