Trent Reznor and Mariqueen Maandig Expecting First Child, Postpone How to Destroy Angels Full-Length

Earlier this year, Nine Inch Nails guru Trent Reznor introduced his new band How to Destroy Angels, which he shares with his wife Mariqueen Maandig and British programmer Atticus Ross. The trio dropped the physical version of their debut EP today (July 6), so it's time for fans to wait for the next step from Reznor and Maandig. Rather than a How to Destroy Angels album, however, it's more likely that the couple's next project will be the birth of their first child.

Speaking with Women's Wear Daily [via Spinner], Maandig said that she's been trying to avoid discussing the pregnancy altogether, which is becoming difficult as she starts showing.

"I like to stay in a shroud of mystery," she said. "There have been requests for photo shoots with these recent interviews, and I needed a good reason to decline."

In the same article, Maandig confirmed that plans for a full How to Destroy Angels album have been delayed as they prepare for the new child. Instead, she has baby names on the brain.

"I have a list, it's so hard," she said. "It's like here's a brand-new life and you're in charge of it, now go!"

Here's a word of advice, Mariqueen: don't let Trent anywhere near the naming process, unless you're okay with your child being named after an obscure industrial band.
