David Bowie's life and music will be celebrated in a new online concert special that has fittingly been dubbed "A Bowie Celebration: Just for one day!"

Like previous A Bowie Celebration events, this on was organized by Bowie's long-running pianist Mike Garson. It will take place on January 8 at 9 p.m. ET as a globally available livestream concert and will be available for 24 hours only. The whole thing comes in honour of what would have been Bowie's 74th birthday.

Garson will be joined by Bowie producer Tony Visconti and Bowie collaborators like Gail Ann Dorsey, but the real draw is the enormous batch of singers assembled for the event. They include Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan, Gary Oldman, Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell, Macy Gray, Bush's Gavin Rossdale, Def Leppard's Joe Elliott and the Cult's Ian Astbury.

"What we're planning is an amazing show with the most talented musicians from every period of David's career, as well as phenomenal artists from many different genres," Garson said in a press release. "We'll hear different interpretations of David's songs; some with totally new arrangements that have never been heard before."
