Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's score for The Social Network provided the ideal backdrop for the film's on-edge drama to unfold and further proved that Reznor dismantling Nine Inch Nails might have been not such a bad thing. Now, he will be teaming up with Ross once again to provide the score for the American adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Reznor first dropped hints at the project in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. When the interviewer asked if Reznor would team up with Network director David Fincher again for his upcoming Dragon Tattoo remake, Reznor paused and said, "Well, we'll see how that plays out."

Now, TwentyFourBit points to a lengthy interview with the New York Times' online interview segment TimesTalks, where Reznor confirms that he will be working with Ross on the Dragon Tattoo score. In the interview, Reznor says that he's been working with Ross on the score for the past two months. He also said that while The Social Network score was mostly made with electronic instruments, this one will focus on cellos and other stringed instruments.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will hit theatres this December. Part one of TimesTalks can be streamed below.
