The Tragically Hip Treat 'Fully Completely' to Deluxe Reissue, Perform Album in Full on Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 6, 2014

The Tragically Hip released their classic album Fully Completely in 1992, and while 22 years might be a slightly awkward anniversary, that isn't stopping the band from reissuing the record in deluxe form. It will arrive on November 17 and will be followed by a North American tour.

This reissue will come in various formats. The two-CD deluxe edition comes with the remastered album, two previously unreleased bonus tracks, and a live album recorded at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern in 1992. The super deluxe edition includes the same material, plus a DVD of the 1993 tour doc Heksenketel, five lithographs and a hardbound book.

There will also be a digital edition containing the extra tracks and live album, plus a 180-gram vinyl pressing. The vinyl version doesn't include the live album, but the two unreleased tracks come as a download voucher.

As for the tour, the band will spend the early months of 2015 touring and performing Fully Completely fully and completely. Fittingly, the trek is called the "Fully and Completely" tour, and it includes lots of Canadian dates, plus a number in the U.S.'s northern states. See the schedule below.

Fully Completely went No. 1 in Canada and has been certified Diamond (meaning it has sold more than a million copies in our country). It includes iconic Hip tracks like "Courage (For Hugh McLennan)," "Fifty Mission [ed's note: oops] Cap," "Locked in the Trunk of a Car," "At the Hundredth Meridian," "Wheat Kings" and "Looking for a Place to Happen." Bob Mersereau's 2007 book The Top 100 Canadian Albums named Fully Completely as our country's fifth best ever.

The band are currently in the studio making new material.
