Toronto-based garage rockers Tough Age are back — three years out from their last release — with plans for a new record titled Which Way Am I? The band's fourth studio album arrives on August 7 via Mint Records.

According to a release, the record's two sides see both shorter runtimes that "fight against the current with frenetic agitation," and, on the flip-side, "meditative, melancholy songs [that] welcome death's sweet embrace."

The first single from the record arrives today in the form of a track called "Repose," a tune that sees bassist Penny Clark channelling Cate Le Bon, offering vocals for Jarrett Evan Samson's writing.

"'Repose' is me trying to write a song about peaceful things after all of my misery songs on the previous records," Clark said of the track in a statement. "To me, 'Repose' sounded like a calm and solitary night, so everything in that song happens at night."

Which Way Am I? follows Tough Age's 2017 studio album, Shame
