Tough Age Cover cub for Record Store Day 7-Inch

One of Mint Records' current bands is paying tribute to one of its classic acts, as garage rock outfit Tough Age have announced plans to release an EP of cub covers. Tough Age Plays cub's Hot Dog Day will be out for Record Store Day on April 18.

As the title indicates, this 7-inch features new versions of all six songs from cub's 1993 effort Hot Dog Day. It was produced by returning collaborator Jay Arner at a Vancouver space called the Family Christmas.

The EP includes "My Chinchilla," which Tough Age contributed to Mint's Hot Heros cassette compilation back in the fall. Scroll past the tracklist below to hear the premiere of the newly shared track "Nicolas Bragg." Once again, it's a hard-hitting twee-punk scorcher that clocks in at well under two minutes.

Tough Age Plays cub's Hot Dog Day is being pressed on what a press release calls "(very-)watery-ketchup-coloured" vinyl. The cover artwork (above) is a near-identical recreation of the original packaging.

Tough Age Plays cub's Hot Dog Day:

1. Flying Carpet
2. My Chinchilla
3. Electric Chair
4. Nicolas Bragg
5. Through My Hoop
6. Summer Samba
