Totally Unnecessary but Totally Awesome: Hip-hop Stars Re-imagined as Animals

Totally Unnecessary but Totally Awesome: Hip-hop Stars Re-imagined as Animals
Without a doubt, at some point in time you've pondered what it would be like if you were an animal. Maybe you dreamed about running as fast as a cheetah, or maybe you likened yourself to a graceful gazelle. Some of us hirsute dudes wonder where the divide is between us and silverback gorillas.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like, however, if your favourite rappers came from the animal kingdom? Artist Patrick Moberg has, and he's gone and whipped up some sketches to give us a good idea of how wild MCs can get.

The illustrator's Animal Pharm blog features a host of beastly puns to go along with his drawings of classic and contemporary hip-hoppers: Big Daddy Kane is presented as the long-limbed, blinged-out feather duster Big Daddy Crane; furry, bow-tied versions of Big Boi and Andre 3000 make up OutKats; a black and white, panda-fied take on R&B singer Erykah Badu is re-dubbed Erykah Bamboo. You get the picture.

One thing about his cute caricatures, though: turning Lil Wayne into a regal lion named Lil Mane is pretty clever, but what are you going to do for Gucci Mane? Gnucci Mane?

Thanks to the Stranger for the tip.
