Notorious Creamery opens in Fort Lauderdale this weekend

Brampton-born hip-hop star Tory Lanez is branching out and trying his hand at an unexpected business venture — an ice cream shop in Fort Lauderdale.

Perhaps tired of the hours-long waits for novelty ice cream in Toronto, the Canadian rapper will open the Notorious Creamery on Saturday (June 15) down in Florida.

Located in Fort Lauderdale's Flagler Village, the treat shop is a 700-square-foot space inside the neighbourhood's converted warehouse spaces known as "The Hive."

The venture will be operated by Lanez and business partner Bobby Velez, who initially met through Lanez's bodyguard (a mutual friend of the two).

Speaking to the Sun Sentinel, Velez praised Lanez's "strong business mind" and said "I just loved what he's working on behind the scenes, creating new trends."

The shop will be slinging all sorts of ice cream confections, from cones to ice cream sandwiches to brownies and milkshakes and even a couple of vegan options. Whatever you order, Velez promises there will be plenty of "Instagrammable" delights.

Below, get a sneak peak at some of the extravagant offerings that will be available beginning this weekend.

Lanez's latest release is a mixtape titled International Fargo, which was released in April. His last studio album, Love Me Now, arrived last November.
