Toronto's SoundClash Music Festival Gets Born Ruffians, Chairlift, Boundary, Announces Finalists for 2013 Awards
Last year, Toronto's SoundClash Music Award expanded into the SoundClash Music Festival, and next month both the award and the festival will be returning for another go-around. This year's festival runs from July 12 to 14.

While the award celebrates acts from the Greater Toronto Area, the festival has a broader focus. This year's performers include Born Ruffians, Chairlift, Boundary (a.k.a. Poirier), the Belle Game, Five Alarm Funk and more. These acts will perform at Harbourfront Centre in downtown Toronto.

As for the SoundClash Music Award, this year's finalists are Kashka, Grounders, Brendan Philip, the Thing Is, Program and the Jessica Stuart Few. They were selected out of 350 applicants and will be vying for three prizes totalling $10,000. The winner also gets vocal coaching, music career development consultation, and a Music Ontario membership. Watch a short promo video featuring the finalists below.

The winner will be chosen by jury selections and public votes, which will follow the finalists' performances at the festival on July 13. Audiences can vote online. The winner will be announced in mid-August.

The festival also includes a DanceClash battle between dance crews and DJs for $1,000, a FashionClash show from local youth designers, and various workshops.
