Toronto-based project Blunt Chunks — helmed by Jaunt's Caitlin Woelfle-O'Brien — have announced plans for their upcoming debut self-titled EP, out May 6 via Telephone Explosion Records.

Produced by David Plowman (the OBGMs) and Nathan Burley, the EP features contributions by members of the Weather StationBroken Social Scene, Scott Hardware, Luna Li, Hooded Fang and more. According to press materials, the record "grapples with the many functions of heartache, using music as a mechanism to memorialize the past and the first step to breaking a cycle of self-neglect."

Today, they've released new single "Natural Actors" in anticipation of the record. The song features Woelfle-O'Brien's dulcet vocals over top of rich piano chords and off-kilter drumming, culminating with a chorus of "Today I had cotton candy for breakfast / Red wine for dinner."

Woelfle-O'Brien said of the track in a statement: "It's just a domestic song. I feel like it's my 'unhappy housewife' song. Like a woman in the wrong place for her own light to shine. I've struggled with that a lot over the years."
