Toronto's AFROWAVETO Announces Inaugural Festival with Exco Levi, Kirk Diamond

Desiire, Leila Day, Shopé and more will perform at the virtual event

Toronto's AFROWAVETO has announced the lineup of its inaugural festival. The free virtual event will take place April 24.

Hosted by Lexxicon, the inaugural event will feature performances from over 20 of Toronto's finest rap, R&B, reggae, Afrobeats, dancehall and reggaeton artists. You can take in a teaser for the festival below.

Juno Award winners Exco Levi and Kirk Diamond will headline the festival, while the lineup also includes Exclaim! New Fave Desiire, Leila Dey, Shopé, Alliston Davis, Kris Hans, Loti, H.O.D, Kahris, King Majick & Bawse, Zahra Moves, Swisha Sweetz, Icons, DOLOTHEGIFTED, Looch Bodega, Eber, HNDFLL and Jevy.
 
The inaugural AFROWAVETO festival will be broadcast April 24 at 7 p.m.  ET through YouTube. Further ticketing and broadcast information can be found here.

Founded in 2019, AFROWAVETO aims to support Black multi-genre musicians working in Toronto's music industry through programming, the creation of safe spaces, and community and cultural connections. Learn more about the organization here.
