Toronto Post-Punks Laurie Premiere "Anxiety" Video

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 25, 2019

Toronto three-piece post-punk unit Laurie formed late last year and released their debut single "Anxiety" in February. Now, the band have paired the tune with an accompanying music video.

"'Anxiety' is a dark, humorous take on the fragility of life," the band tell Exclaim! "A frantic over-sharing of fearful thoughts, that sarcastically celebrates ill-advised coping mechanisms. It simultaneously captures the whiplash that comes from a close brush with mortality and the desire to live in happy ignorance."

The video captures Laurie's live energy, though flashing lights, jumpy camera movements and grabbing hands add an extra layer of darkness and dread.

Watch the video for "Anxiety" below.

Laurie's next live show is April 28 at the Baby G in Toronto, supporting Pretty Matty.
