Toronto Labels Join Forces For the Better Reasons Festival

During the summer concert season, promoters hardly need a reason to collect an exciting batch of artists under a festival banner. The sunlight-plied public willingness to gather and engage in merrymaking is cause enough for most, but not for three of Toronto's premier independent labels and one of the city's most artist friendly venues.

Blocks Blocks Blocks Recording Company, Fuzzy Logic, and Out of this Spark along with venue the Tranzac have joined forces to present the Better Reasons Festival, "a celebration of music, art and independent culture." The festival runs from June 12 to 14 with each label curating a night of music. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Sketch, a Toronto based organisation that "creates art making opportunities for young people who live street-involved and homeless or who are considered to be at risk," according to a description on the Sketch website.

The Tranzac, located at 292 Brunswick Avenue in Toronto, will be home to all three nights of concerts and will be exhibiting art work by youth from the Sketch program. Admission is pay what you can, so don't be shy with those double digit bills if you can afford to support a good cause.
