Toronto Is Angry About Summer Walker's Concert
The singer says the show was delayed at the border even though she was posting to Instagram nonstop

Walker was set to play Toronto's Rebel last night on her "The First and Last Tour" and was expected to take the stage at 10 p.m. Despite doors opening two hours prior, attendees were having enough trouble getting into the venue and soon took to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the lengthy wait in the cold temperature.

This Summer Walker line is the longest line I have ever seen at Rebel in my entire life.

Those who avoided the hours-long wait outside of the venue didn't find much of an improvement indoors either. As user @Moniquekrj recalled, "we got trampled going in, some girl threw up twice in the crowd, someone's wig got snatched [off] their head."
Recap of Summer Walker concert... we got trampled going in, some girl threw up twice in the crowd, someone's wig got snatched of their head, and we waited for 4 hours for her to arrive while she was taking polaroids w Drake.... all in all great concert 😊😊😊😊

Fans weren't impressed by Walker's Instagram story updates throughout the hours leading up to the show, in which she documented her trip from the hotel, to the venue, and eventually to the venue's green room alongside producer/boyfriend London on Da Track. One snap saw her write "I looooove Toronto," though it was clear those left waiting in the cold didn't feel the same way.
The fact that summer walker had the audacity to post too is what's sending me 😭😭😭😭😭 talkin bout "I love Toronto" pic.twitter.com/F2DPDob8Jk

After snapping a few photos backstage with Drake, Walker reportedly took the stage a little after 11 p.m. and allegedly performed for under an hour.

@IAMSUMMERWALKER how we pay extra for VIPs only to get trampled on, pushed by security then have you on stage at almost 11:30?!

Summer Walker is corny. Mental health and social anxiety is one thing but having your fans wait in the cold while you stroll around Toronto & posting it is wild unprofessional

Today, promoter RapSeason shared a statement Walker provided to The Shade Room, in which she told the site that the delays were "due to her equipment being stuck at the U.S.-Canadian border." The site notes that "her team did not make her aware of any complications, and she got on stage when she was told," but the social media pile-on has continued.

UPDATE (11/27, 3 p.m. EST): Walker has now attempted to further explain the cause of the delay via Instagram Live. You can read more about that here.
Walker is touring behind her debut Over It, which arrived in October. Earlier this year, Drake lent a guest verse to a remix of her "Girls Need Love."
