Just over two years removed from releasing their Picture You Staring LP, Montreal outfit TOPS have lifted the curtain on their long-awaited third LP. Titled Sugar at the Gate, the record will arrive on June 2 through Arbutus Records.

Ten tracks in length, Sugar at the Gate is described as the band's most ambitious album to date. Leaving their home city, the quartet moved themselves to Los Angeles to live and record the LP at Glamdale, a former brothel-turned-mansion located in Glendale, CA. The announcement also comes with a taste of what's to come from the record via the new song "Petals," which you can hear in the player below.

"Living in L.A. was living out a teenage fantasy, living with your band and practicing in the garage," vocalist Jane Penny said in a statement. "It was also the first time we've ever had that much space to make music. I took the experience of living in L.A. as a challenge to make music that I know is real to me, in the sense of it feeling true and containing true feelings, but also recordings of great songs, the real thing."
