BY Sarah MurphyPublished May 8, 2019

After teasing their first new album in a more than decade, Tool have finally announced the exact day that it will arrive — August 30.

The band revealed the release date on Twitter, complete with a brief visual teaser.

As Consequence of Sound reports, the band also announced the album release date during their concert in Birmingham, AL, last night (May 7). An image of "August 30" appeared on the screens, and frontman Maynard James Keenan told the crowd, "All right, everyone, take out your phones, security stand down, and let these fuckers do whatever it is with their phones."

The forthcoming LP still doesn't have a title yet, but Tool have been playing some of the new material live at recent shows.

Earlier this year, the record was mastered by Bob Ludwig.

When the new album finally arrives, it will mark the band's first since 2006's 10,000 Days.
