Although cult musician and personality Tom Waits's latest studio release, Bad As Me, arrived in October 2011, he was on the Late Show with David Letterman last night (July 9) performing material from the album live for the first time. For his performance, he played the record's lead-off track, "Chicago," and in typical Waits fashion the song feels like a slice of some jazzy macabre and distinctly American musical theatre.
