Published Jul 10, 2012Although cult musician and personality Tom Waits's latest studio release, Bad As Me, arrived in October 2011, he was on the Late Show with David Letterman last night (July 9) performing material from the album live for the first time. For his performance, he played the record's lead-off track, "Chicago," and in typical Waits fashion the song feels like a slice of some jazzy macabre and distinctly American musical theatre.
In an interview with Letterman, Waits showed off one of his recent eBay purchases: an antique device from the 19th century designed to trap and drown rats. You can watch the surreal interview and Waits sing "Chicago" in the two clips below.
