Tom Petty's estate has issued a cease-and-desist against Donald Trump following the president's usage of the song "I Won't Back Down" at his under-attended campaign rally in Tulsa, OK.
In a statement on Twitter, the songwriter's estate confirmed that it has not authorized the song's usage. The message condemned Trump, saying, "Tom Petty would never want a song of his used for a campaign of hate."
The statement adds that, while "everyone is free to vote as they like, think as they like," Trump's presidency doesn't accurately reflect the values of America or democracy.
