Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

"Mary Jane's Last Dance" (cover by Johnny Depp, Ke$ha, Patrick Carney)

As far as supergroup collaborations go, this is a strange one. During a Wednesday night (November 14) tribute to Tom Petty in Los Angeles, a group of performers including actor Johnny Depp, pop singer Ke$ha, and Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney played a cover of "Mary Jane's Last Dance."

The cover is pretty much what you'd expect from such a performance, with a stage full of musicians hammering out a faithful cover of the tune that's a little clunky but generally fun. The video from Petty Fest is fan-shot, but the quality is decent and you'll get to see Depp strumming away and looking an awful lot like a real-life Jack Sparrow.
