Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello has revived a debate over his political knowledge and educational credentials this weekend, posting an interaction he had with a troll over the musician's anti-Trump stance.
Morello, who holds a bachelor of arts degree from Harvard University, reposted a screenshot of a troll's interaction with him from back in 2017, captioning a new tweet documenting the exchange on Saturday (June 6), "like shooting fish in a barrel."
Taking the "stick to music" stance, the user had responded to a photo of Morello and his guitar bearing the words "fuck Trump," saying, "Another successful musician instantly becomes a political expert."
Morello replied: "One does not have to be an honors grad in political science from Harvard University to recognize the unethical and inhumane nature of this administration but well, I happen to be an honors grad in political science from Harvard University, so I can confirm that for you."
While the interaction originally took place back in December 2017 over Instagram, it apparently bears repeating amid ongoing instances of racial injustice, police brutality and inaction by President Donald Trump.
