Tomorrow (September 20), pop-punk crew Blink-182 will deliver their new album NINE, but the news cycle is more focused on their alien-hunting former member Tom DeLonge. While we all got our jokes in when he quit the band to form a multi-faceted space exploration company, it turns out he was really onto something.
In 2017 and 2018, DeLonge's To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science released three videos to the general public. Now, the U.S. Navy has confirmed they were in fact videos of unidentified flying objects.
"The Navy designates the objects contained in these videos as unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs)," Joe Gradisher, spokesperson for the deputy chief of naval operations for information warfare, told The Black Vault, a site curated by UFO enthusiasts.
Gradisher also spoke to CNN about the videos, adding that the Navy was being open about the UFOs for safety reasons.
"This is all about frequent incursions into our training ranges by UAPs," he said. "Those incursions present a safety hazard to the safe flight of our aviators and security of our operations.... For many years, our aviators didn't report these incursions because of the stigma attached to previous terminology and theories about what may or may not be in those videos."
In other words, DeLonge was right. As such, his alien-hunting docuseries Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation has been renewed for a second season by the History Channel. He confirmed the news in a video, which can be viewed below.
