Published Sep 18, 2008With Tokyo Police Clubs debut album, Elephant Shell, now in the bag and out in the public sphere, the Newmarket, ON band are pulling a bit of a Radiohead. No, not where they adopt some pay-what-you-want album model but the thing where they launch a remix contest for all those young, aspiring remixers out there.
On Wednesday (September 17), Tokyo Police Club kick-started the competition via their MySpace page, where you can now download individual parts or "stems as Radiohead called them of their track "Graves. With all the pieces, you then assemble them in some fancy, preferably creative way and email your remix to [email protected].
The contest runs until October 8 and the winner will be announced via the bands MySpace profile. Also, the band tell us the lucky remixer champ has the chance to be included on an upcoming Tokyo Police Club release, meaning a bit of fame, as well as some possible green.
