Tokyo Police Club

"Wait Up (Boots of Danger)" (acoustic version) (video)

Tokyo Police Club's latest LP, Champ, came out last June, but the Newmarket, ON-based indie rock dudes are still busy promoting it. They're currently wrapping up a North American tour with Two Door Cinema Club, and now they've filmed a new acoustic session.

This latest session comes from Manchester Scenewipe. The English website just filmed the band performing an acoustic version of "Wait Up (Boots of Danger)." It was recorded in a stairwell at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester, UK, where the band played back on November 3. This stripped-down take reinvents the spiky rocker as a campfire-ready folk tune, with the wordless hook supported by a wheezing harmonica. This definitely helps to bring out the song's wistful, nostalgic vibe.

See the performance below, and see the song's original music video right here.
