American rock lifer Todd Rundgren and Norwegian musicians Lindstrøm and Emil Nikolaisen have a collaborative album due out on May 5. Although their Runddans consists of a single 39-minute composition, this has been broken up into 12 sections for the purpose of the album, and one part of it can be streamed now.
"Put Your Arms Around Me" begins with theatrical, romantic declarations, but the disorienting production and twinkling electronics quickly push it into unexpected directions. Eventually, the track settles into a straight-ahead groove, but it remains a trippy galactic voyage.
