In what's one of the more confusing song titles we've seen in a while, Toronto electronic duo TMPL have released a new track called "VOYIJ."
TMPL is a collaboration between electronic producer Kevin O'Brien and singer-songwriter Eli Andreas, and a press release notes that "Kevin was eager to experiment with a more innovative sound that wouldn't confine his productions to a set of formulaic breakdowns and drops."
This resulted in the slow-moving, dramatic "VOYIJ." We're assuming that the title is a butchered spelling of the word "voyage," and the song sounds a bit like a synth-y, syncopated adaptation of a rock ballad.
Hear it below. The band have a self-recorded, self-produced EP coming out soon.
