Tita Lima

After a rainstorm pretty much washed out her pervious night’s performance, Brazil’s Tita Lima got a chance at some modest redemption on the cosy little Rex stage. Backed by local singer/percussionist Aline Morales and guitarist David Arcus (as visa issues kept her own band back home), the singer ran through a loosely arranged set of soulful sambas, bossas, and quirky, upbeat tunes like the one snidely directed at all her ex-boyfriends. Peppering her melodies with rhythmic shaker inflections and soft melodica tones, an engaging Lima ended her night respectfully with "Você Abusou,” dedicated to the grandmother who taught it to her years ago.
