Time Machine/Various

TM Radio

Watch out for these Time Machine cats because they’ve been coming with the freshness for the past couple of years and this radio show presentation is the proof. Acting as a bit of a sampler for their label, TM Radio throws in some remixes, new joints and label-mates and the mix is an overall feel-good vibe as the beats are fit for the summertime. Hosts Time Machine covers most of the ground on this effort, with a new song called "The Wiggle” coming very correct to start the show — an explosive hit with a fantastic hook from Mekalek. The best non-TM moment is easily the pairing of Edo G. and the incredible Masta Ace on the burning hot "Make Some Noise,” a live hip-hop party that will hopefully cross over to the masses. Time Machine lifts an entire beat and flow by A Tribe Called Quest to re-work a classic into "Dumbin’ Out” which, though clever with the new lyrics, just doesn’t sit well given the familiarity of the original. TM Radio blends some nice jazzed-out vintage beats with exciting bangers, and even though some of the joints can be a little ho-hum, there’s plenty of gold in this package for DJs to dig for.
